Founder

My name is Claudia. I am Mexican, born in Mérida and raised in Cancun. Growing up in a city shaped by people from all over the world made me deeply curious about culture, what makes us different, and what connects us.

Some of my earliest memories of that connection come through food. Sitting at tables where languages were different, but the experience was shared.

Food did not need translation. It carried stories through smells, flavors, and traditions that felt honest and real.

That perspective stayed with me.

Why Nativos?

When I moved to the Netherlands in 2018, I started searching for the flavors of home — both the ingredients I grew up with and places where food truly tasted like Mexico. That was when I realized how hard it can be to find true flavors when you are far from where you come from.

Most of what I found came through word of mouth, scattered recommendations, or chance discoveries. There was no single place to rely on. Nativos was born from that gap — not only to help people find real food, but also authentic ingredients to cook, share, and keep traditions alive.

We are building Nativos as a space to discover real flavors, connect with cultures through food, and find places created by those who know them best.
